Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Jackson County nonprofit Realty’s Chance Rescue Sanctuary is holding a “fill the trailer” event this weekend to help animals impacted by Hurricane Helene. The event will take place Saturday and Sunday, November 2 and 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Blain’s Farm & Fleet on O’Neill Drive. Partnering with Fleet of Angels and Spirit Horse Equine Rescue, the sanctuary aims to gather supplies for horses and other animals affected by the Category 4 hurricane that devastated areas across the southeast U.S.
Requested items include generators, chainsaws, fencing, animal shampoo, and horse blankets. Shoppers at Blain’s can purchase and donate items directly in-store, where staff from Reality’s Chance will be on hand to assist. Donations can also be made online through the sanctuary’s website, with funds designated for hurricane relief. The collected items will be sent to support impacted communities in Tennessee and North Carolina.
