Jackson, Mich. (WKHM, Greg O’Connor) — The Jackson Public School (JPS) Board holds their regular meeting today at 5:30 p.m. A number of renewal agreements JPS currently has with a variety of companies, for example, Imagine Learning, American College Testing, Prairie Farms; are all likely to be renewed.

The board is also expected to go into executive session to discuss a text sent by Superintendent Jeff Beal that was apparently critical of board member Kesha Hamilton. The text was critical of an individual referred to as “KH” and was apparently sent by accident to Hamilton herself. Beal did apologize on the unintended text, but has not made any public comment on the incident that happened July 23.

Hamilton said she was “disheartened” and feels targeted for asking pertinent questions.

The meeting will take place at 621 S. State Street.
