A new warning about a fake post office text message. The Attorney General’s Office wants you to know about “smishing” — which is when a scammer entices a victim by claiming they must provide a password, account number, or even social security number to stop an alleged fraudulent transaction.

In the latest alert, scammers are sending text messages saying they’re from the U.S. Post Office and if you click on the link, it could lead to identity theft. To protect yourself, don’t click on any suspicious links, never give out personal financial information, and don’t reply to the message.
