Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — It’s the end of an era in the Jackson restaurant business — Karen Druschal and Frank Slaby, longtime owners of the popular Bone Island Grille, have announced they are retiring and have sold the business.

Nearly 20 years ago, Karen and Frank turned the old and legendary Mitch’s Bar in Vandercook into one of the area’s most popular bars and restaurants which also featured a large party room and — of course — the Jimmy Buffet atmosphere.

Just as important, Frank and Karen were outstanding members of the community, always willing to help, and were a big part of dozens of charity events over the years. WKHM’s Greg O’Connor says they will be truly missed.

Mark Dinius and Clayton Caudill hae purchased the business and take over on Monday. Caudill has extensive experience in the bar & restaurant business.
