Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department is piecing together an accident that occurred Saturday on Territorial Road near Parks that claimed the life of 19-year-old Aamar Harrell.

Investigators say the vehicle driven by a 20-year-old Jackson female left the road at a high rate of speed and hit a tree. The driver and male front seat passenger were taken to the University of Michigan hospital in critical condition. Harrell was in the back seat and succumbed to his injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident, and the crash remains under investigation. The Sheriff’s department has not formally released the names of those involved.
