Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Jackson Symphony Orchestra (JSO) has carefully curated a sensory-friendly Chamber Concert, scheduled for 6 p.m. June 3 at Weatherwax Hall in downtown Jackson.

JSO says the concert will feature chamber music pieces, performed in a relaxed atmosphere, specifically chosen to engage and captivate the audience while considering sensory sensitivities.

The format is intended to offer an intimate and immersive experience, allowing individuals to move freely, make noise, and engage with the music in their preferred way. JSO will also offer reduced lighting, lowered sound levels, designated quiet rooms, and staff prepared to assist with any additional accommodations needed.

“We are excited to present a concert that embraces the diverse needs of our community,” said Steve Trosin, Executive Director of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. “By creating a safe and inclusive environment, we strive to make music accessible to all individuals and we invite everyone to join us for the experience.”

This is a free event with no ticket purchase necessary, courtesy of a sponsorship by Eaton corporation. There will also be free take-home fidgets provided by Final Touch Finish Work and Cabinet Retouching.
