GOP frontrunner and former Detroit police chief James Craig is facing allegations of fraudulent signatures used to get his name on the gubernatorial ballot.

Craig has publically expressed confidence in the validity of the signatures, saying he feels comfortable with the investigation process.

GOP gubernatorial candidates held their first debate in Howell, but Craig was not present, citing a prior speaking engagement.
