A Milwaukee based company, J. Jeffers Company, has stepped up with a plan to invest nearly 30 million dollars to redevelop the Hayes Hotel Building in downtown Jackson. Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney stated the development will include residential, “AirBnB” like rentals, commercial and the reopening of the event space in the Hayes Hotel.
The Hayes Hotel opened in 1926 and over the course of it’s nearly 100 years, has played host to travelers, corporate clients and more recently, has sat empty for almost 20 years.
Mayor Mahoney went on to praise the work done by Scott Flemming with the Jackson Anchor Initiative, who was instrumental in putting this deal together.
