Thursday, February 11, at around 10PM, a car travelling west on Louis Glick Highway lost control and crashed through the barrel room of the Grand River Brewery.
The 2003 Mercury Sable crashed through a window and into the brewery’s event space causing significant damage. The crash occurred as staff members were closing for the night. No one inside the brewery was injured.
Speed is believed to have been a factor.
Witnesses say that the driver rolled out of the vehicle and fled the scene in a white Chrysler 200. Investigators contacted the owner of the abandoned Mercury and are now searching for a 27 year-old male as a person of interest. Police found blood inside the Mercury, although there were no corresponding injuries reported in the Henry Ford Allegiance Health emergency room after the incident.
