Former Jackson City Council member Andrew Frounfelker was sentenced Thursday by Judge Susan Jordan.  Frounfelker pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for aggravated domestic violence in September.

Frounfelker was initially charged with a felony by the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.  Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka was later removed from the case due to a conflict of interest.  The new prosecutor on the case reached the misdemeanor guilty agreement.

Frounfelker was sentenced 18 months probation, 1 year in jail, and a $1000 fine.  The first 30 days of the jail sentence will be served on weekends beginning on Friday, December 13th.  The remaining jail time will be suspended.

The charge relates to an accusation that Frounfelker caused severe damage to his girlfriend’s face requiring surgery.  She also had apparent wounds on her neck according to police.  The woman, who is reportedly still in a relationship with Frounfelker, spoke on his behalf at the sentencing.
