The Michigan State Senate will now consider a bill to remove a ban on feeding and baiting deer after the bill passed the Michigan House with a 56-49 vote on Tuesday.

Despite this development just 10 days before the firearm deer hunting season begins, the ban still remains in effect while the bill moves through the legal process.

The ban was enacted with the intention of limiting the spread of Chronic Wasting Disease which is passed in the deer saliva.
