Contribution boosts pledge total to $14.1 million County National Bank (CNB) has committed $100,000 to the capital campaign for a new YMCA facility in downtown Jackson.
“The Y is so important to downtown Jackson and our community,” said CNB President and CEO John Waldron. “The Y touches every person in the community and contributes to the health of all of us. The Y brings people together – professionals, teens, blue-collar workers, retirees, youth sports participants – and it is vital to our downtown.”
The CNB Board of Directors recently approved the major contribution, which brings the pledge total to $14.1 million. The Y recently completed a successful strategic planning process, and Y membership is now at an all-time high with more than 8,400 members and more than 4,000 weekly visits downtown.
This announcement follows the American 1 Credit Union pledge this summer of $600,000 to the campaign. These gifts have been sparked by the earlier announcement of the new campaign team, composed of more than 30 community business leaders.
