Sarturday at around 630PM on the border of Inkster and Dearborn Heights, a 45 year-old woman and a 10 year-old boy were killed in an accident involving an Inkster Police SUV.

The woman’s vehicle was turning left out of a parking lot when it was struck by the police cruiser, which was responding to a pedestrian crash involving a child.

The officer was not using a siren at the time of the crash, according to witnesses.

The accident is under investigation by the Michigan State Police, as they review dashcam footage.
