Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — A Jackson County judge will decide Friday whether two murder suspects will be tried separately for the stabbing death of a 30-year-old man.
Joshua Pirtle, 32, and Klaira Mishaw, 29, are charged in the October 2023 killing of Sebastian Igafo-Teo, who was found dead in his Randolph Street home with over 70 stab wounds. Authorities say his truck was also stolen.
Pirtle faces multiple charges, including open murder and assault with intent to kill. Mishaw is accused of aiding in the attack.
Prosecutors say an argument escalated into violence, leading to a late-night police chase that ended in a crash. When arrested, Pirtle was covered in blood, while Mishaw had traces on her clothes.
The judge will determine if they’ll stand trial together or separately.
