Last week a compromise was reached between the Michigan House and Senate on the tipped wage and minimum wage issue. However, that legislation is tie-barred with the earned sick time legislation and some ground work needs to be made up between the two sides. State Senator Sue Shink said her sticking point is with protecting small business employees.

State Representative Lightner said the Senate is hung up on the numbers when it is really about seasonal workers.

The House has a rare Friday session scheduled to hopefully pass a compromise. The two sides only have the next couple of days to figure it out.
