On Tuesday at approximately 11:34 a.m. MSP troopers from the Jackson Post were dispatched to the area of W/B I-94 near Dearing Rd in Sandstone Township, Jackson County for a single vehicle crash. According to MSP, preliminary investigation shows that a 31-year-old woman from Kalamazoo was driving a 2024 Mazda CX50 with her two children, an 8-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, when she lost control of her vehicle before striking the guardrail twice.
All occupants of the vehicle were injured and transported to Henry Ford Hospital. The 3-year-old passenger was listed in critical condition. The other two occupants sustained minor injuries. Authorities say alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash. Troopers were assisted on scene by the Parma Sandstone Township Fire Department.
