A message from the Superintendent of Jackson Public Schools, Jeff Beal, was put out on the district’s Facebook page Thursday afternoon about a data breach of PowerSchool, the company that provides JPS with student information management software. According to the message, PowerSchool informed JPS that a data breach that occurred on December 28, 2024 led to unauthorized access of customer data, including some information related to the school district.

Superintendent Beal said that the district is working alongside PowerSchool to remained informed about PowerSchool’s investigation into the data breach, and that further updates will be made when further relevant information becomes available.
