Encounter Church will be holding Their 2nd Annual Block Party on May 21st from 11 am – 2 pm. The Block Party will consist of plenty of new free activities that will be fun for the whole family. New this year is a petting zoo provided by Lowry’s Little Flock Farm. The animals joining the party are llamas, alpacas, and goats. Lowry’s will provide seed to feed the animals. Also new this year are inflatables including a 5 in 1 ninja inflatable obstacle course. “This year we saw a need for a welcome center, so this year there will be an entrance where visitors will receive a ticket to redeem for a hotdog, chips, and water, as well as a sticker for the event.” Said Encounter Church Outreach Pastor Trevor Heyd. Another new activity will be tractor rides that will take place on the over 16.5 acre church property.
Returning this year is the cornhole tournament open to the public. 1st place will take home two $50 gift cards to local businesses, with 2nd winning two $25 gift cards to local businesses. Registration for the cornhole tournament ends May 15th. All who register by midnight on the 15th will also be entered into a drawing to win two $25 gift cards with the winner being drawn at the block party. The cornhole tournament is scheduled to start at 11 am sharp and all participants must be present at the start. Also returning this year is the display of big trucks including firetrucks, tractors, and more.
“I think we will double our attendance (from 2021) because the community is more open and in need of free activities by making activities more family friendly. There will be more self managed kids stations for children to keep themselves occupied while parents enjoy other activities.” Said Heyd.
RJs Heavenly Delights, and Fortress Cafe will be on hand to provide refreshments for purchase.
The Block party is free and open to all in the community.
