John Wilson, who was on the ballot for The City of Jackson’s Mayor in November of 2021, will be back in court on Monday to address his complaint against the City of Jackson.
Wilson claims yard signs were illegally planted at polling locations on election day. The City’s law firm Plunkett and Cooney has filed a summary disposition requesting the lawsuit be dismissed. That hearing begins Monday, April 11, 2022 at 3pm in Jackson County Circuit Court before Judge Richard LaFlamme.
“My opponent, or my opponent’s campaign team…somebody had placed yard signs on city properties, city right-of-ways, on the properties of the polling locations in three of city’s wards”, Wilson said on recently on WKHM.
Wilson also filed and settled a lawsuit out of court, with WLNS TV’s parent company, NEXSTAR Media. The monetary payout to Wilson is not being discussed by either party per the final agreement.
