One person was killed and three left injured as a result of a highspeed head-on collision on Moscow Road, Friday afternoon.
Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash on Moscow north of Folks Road in Hanover Township, where a 23 year-old man in a stolen vehicle traveling in the southbound lane at over 100 mph attempted to pass a large truck and instead collided head-on with a northbound vehicle.
The crash caused the stolen vehicle to burst into flames. A bystander and deputy were able to free the 23 year-old from the burning vehicle.
One of the three passengers in the southbound vehicle, a 28 year-old Hillsdale woman, died at the hospital. A 29 year-old Hillsdale man and a 2 year-old suffered non life threatening injuries.
The driver of the stolen vehicle was treated for non life threatening injuries.
Charges against the 23 year-old are pending.
