An Eaton County Sheriff’s Deputy rescued a man from a burning car in Delta Township, Saturday afternoon.

Deputies responded to reports of a vehicle fire in the 7400 block of Mt. Hope Highway at around 2:45PM.

The first Deputy to arrive at the scene attempted to put out the car fire with an extinguisher, when he saw that there was a person in the driver’s seat.

The Deputy was able to extract the man from the driver’s side door.

The Deputy and victim were taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The incident remains under investigation.
