David Spade Becomes First-Time Dad   David Spade is the father of a new baby daughter, his first child. Spade’s rep confirmed that Playboy Playmate Jillian Grace gave birth to Spade’s daughter on August 26th in Missouri. “I had a brief
relationship with Jillian Grace,” Spade told TMZ in January. “If it is true that I am the father of her child, then I will accept responsibility.”

Coke Zero Getting Bond Makeover 
Coca-Cola says its Coke Zero is getting a makeover to coincide with the latest James Bond movie. The sugar-free soda will have a new Coca-Cola Zero Zero Seven logo on black, limited-edition bottles as part of a marketing deal. The latest Bond movie, “Quantum Of Solace,” debuts next month.

Oscar Returned To Army The U.S. Army has its Oscar back. Actually, Frank Capra won the award in 1942 for the first in a series of seven films called “Why We Fight” explaining America’s involvement in World War II. The Capra family has the original Oscar. The Department of Defense asked for, and was given, a duplicate in 1958. Folks at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recently saw that duplicate on sale at Christie’s auction house. They notified the Army, which now has it back. It’ll soon be on display at the Pentagon.

Winfrey’s Mom Sued For Unpaid Bill  A high-end clothing store in Brookfield, Wisconsin, is suing Oprah Winfrey’s mother for failing to pay her bill. The star, Valentina, claims Vernita Lee of Milwaukee owes the company nearly $156,000 for purchases and interest as of July 1st and has failed to make the monthly minimum payment of
$2,000. The lawsuit says Lee told store officials she doesn’t think she owes the money. A mediation session is set for September 16th.

Update: Man Charged For Stabbing Of Ashton Kutcher’s Ex  An air conditioning repairman pleaded not guilty yesterday in Los Angeles to the stabbing deaths of two women, including a former girlfriend of Ashton Kutcher. Kutcher told police at the time of the incident that he had gone to pick up Ashley Ellerin from her home to attend a post-Grammy Awards
party, but she failed to answer the door. He said he left the property after checking a back window and spotting what he thought to be red wine stains on the carpet. Ellerin was found dead the next day by a friend. Michael Thomas Gargiulo, 32, faces two counts of murder and two counts of burglary in connection with the killings. Police say Gargiulo might be linked to another murder that occurred in 1993 in the Chicago suburb of Glenview. High school senior Tricia Pacaccio was found stabbed on her doorstep. That investigation remains open.

Michael Moore To Release New Film Online For Free  Michael Moore will release his new film online and for free. “Slacker Uprising” follows Moore’s 62-city tour during the 2004 election to rally young voters. It will be available for three weeks as a free download to North American residents beginning September 23rd. To receive the download, people
can sign up at www.SlackerUprising.com. A “Night of a Thousand House Parties” is planned for October 4th, when local neighborhood screenings are scheduled. A DVD will be released October 7th.

Phelps Offered Recurring Role On ‘Entourage’  Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps has reportedly been offered a recurring role on “Entourage” after impressing the cast and crew with a recent cameo appearance. The eight-time gold medalist landed a role on the series when he happened to walk by the New York City set and
producers offered him a part, as himself. Phelps’ “Entourage” episode airs Sunday.

Jamie Lynn Spears Sends Gift To Bristol Palin?  The pregnant 17-year-old daughter of John McCain’s vice presidential pick Sarah Palin will allegedly receive a present from famous teen mom Jamie Lynn Spears. But, according to a source close to the Beverly Hills baby store Petit Tresor, it was actually Lynne Spears, Jamie’s mother, who called about
the $60 worth of pink burp cloths. Lynne Spears is denying the report.

Dr. Green Returns For ‘ER’ Final   Anthony Edwards will reprise the role of “ER’s” Dr. Mark Greene, who died of a brain tumor at the end of the 2002 season, in flashback scenes in the November 13th episode, NBC said. Dr. Greene will
be shown with other characters from the show’s past. The names of the other returning “ER” alumni weren’t released. Edwards’ appearance comes in the 15th and final season of “ER,” which debuted in 1994. The new season premieres September 25th.

OneRepublic Announces First U.S. Headline Tour  OneRepublic will launch their first headlining tour, “Tag This Tour!” on October 23rd in Fairfax, Virginia. Augustana, The Spill Canvas and The Hush Sound are the opening acts. “Tag This Tour!”  will feature unique contests centered on online social networking between fans and the band. The
tour comes on the heels of the group’s hit CD, “Dreaming Out Loud,” and the first two singles, “Apologize” and “Stop & Stare.” “Apologize” is now the most legally downloaded song in U.S. digital history, with combined sales of over 4.3 million digital downloads in the U.S. alone. The band will perform “Apologize” at this year’s “Fashion Rocks” show, which airs September 9th on CBS.

Mary J. Blige And Robin Thicke Team For ‘Love-Soul Tour’  Mary J. Blige and Robin Thicke have joined forces for “The Love-Soul Tour,” starting September 19th in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and ending October 22nd in Oahu, Hawaii.

Crow, Whole Foods Create A ‘Better Bag’ 
Whole Foods Market has teamed up with Sheryl Crow to create a special-edition reusable shopping bag. Set to appear at Whole Foods Market stores on October 15th, the exclusive design was created in support of the Natural Resources Defense Council’s “Simple Steps” program. The store’s “A Better
Bag” product features a charcoal sketch of a tree with words written by Crow for the project woven into the artwork. The bag is made from 80% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. Each tote represents approximately four 20-ounce plastic bottles.

Carey Hart Joins Pink In Video Slam  Pink has released her video for “So What?” It’s a diss of her ex-husband Carey Hart, who also appears in the video even though the song dismisses their marriage. In the promo for new single,
Pink (whose real name is Alecia) chops down a tree with “Alecia + Carey” carved into it and attacks a just married couple who recognize her at a stop sign while she’s sitting on a Harley. Hart appears in the video, dancing and fighting with his ex as headlines about their split and divorce flash up on the screen.

Kanye Returning To MTV Awards  Kanye West will perform at this Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. West swore last year he would never return to the show when he failed to pick up a single award after being
nominated in five categories, but he has now agreed to close out this year’s festivities. He’ll join a long list of big-name performers added to the bill at the last minute, including Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.

Nickelback Readies New Album  Nickelback will release a new, as-yet-untitled album on November 30th. The group is currently wrapping up the album with producer Mutt Lange in Vancouver and will release the single “If Today
Was Your Last Day” at the end of September.

Amazon.com Reveals New Music Site  Amazon.com has unveiled a Wikipedia-like music information site called SoundUnwound in beta format. The site allows fans to edit band profiles, album and song information and other musicrelated  news and updates. All edits are first reviewed by Amazon staff before going live. The site
includes music recommendations of similar artists, links to YouTube videos, streaming song clips and links to buy digital tracks through the AmazonMP3 store.

Gas Prices To Drive For
