Kelsey Grammer Says He Nearly Died After June Heart Attack Kelsey Grammer tells “Entertainment Tonight” that he nearly died after suffering a heart attack last month. Grammer and his wife were in the ocean in Hawaii, where they have a second home, when he suffered a heart attack seven weeks ago. He says he nearly died because his heart stopped.
“They had to blast me twice and get me started all over again,” Grammer said.
Pamela Anderson Denies Dating Lee Pamela Anderson is denying reports she and her ex-husband Tommy Lee are dating – but admits they are living together. Anderson says they’re living under the same roof for the sake of their two
kids. “The dream would be that all of us could really be together, but we’re better friends,” Lee said.
Jolie, Pitt Used In Vitro The twins recently born to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were conceived through in vitro fertilization, a source told Us Weekly. Knox and Vivienne, the couple’s fifth and sixth children, were born July 12th
in France. The odds of conceiving fraternal twins naturally at Jolie’s age, 33, is less than 1%, the magazine noted.
Miley Cyrus Auctioning Off Meet-N-Greet Miley Cyrus is auctioning off the chance to accompany her on the red carpet for the world premiere of her new Disney film, “Bolt.” The event is set for November 16th in Los Angeles. The auction wraps up next Tuesday. The current bid at press time was around $2,000. In addition to the night-on-thetown

Hathaway Diaries Seized In Follieri Case FBI agents reportedly seized Anne Hathaway’s private diaries during the course of their investigation of her ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri, during a raid on his Manhattan apartment. Hathaway reportedly broke up with Follieri shortly before he was arrested last month and charged with 11 counts of fraud
and money laundering in connection with alleged shady business dealings. No charges have been brought against Hathaway and sources told the New York Daily News that the actress has had no recent contact with the 30-year-old Italian businessman, whom she dated for several years.
Perfumer Creates Warhol-Inspired Scent Bond No. 9, a New York perfumer, has released its new scent, “Andy Warhol Lexington Avenue,” to coincide with the late artist’s 80th birthday. Warhol, who died in 1987, would have celebrated the
milestone August 6th. Bond No. 9 said “Lexington Avenue” is the third in its line of Warhol-inspired collectible scents, which also include “Silver Factory” and “Union Square.” The latest scent will be sold at Bond No. 9’s four New York City boutiques, www.bondno9.com, Saks Fifth Avenue and museum stores nationwide.
New York Highway Named After Tim Russert President George W. Bush has signed a bill designating part of an Orchard Park, New York, road as the Timothy J. Russert Highway. A statement issued by the White House Wednesday said a portion of U.S. Route 20A is being named for the well-respected political analyst. The long-time “Meet the
Press” host and upstate New York native died last month of a fatal heart attack. He was 58.
Absolut Vodka To Sponsor Walk Of Fame Rehab In a bid to revive Hollywood’s stars after years of being stepped on, Absolut Vodka became the first corporate contributor to a $4 million restoration plan in advance of the Walk of Fame’s 50th anniversary in 2010. Walk of Fame officials issued a report card on the condition of all 2,365 stars on
the walk, giving each a letter grade from A to F. Walkway honorees whose stars were graded F were Willard Waterman, Richard Boleslawski, Joan Collins, Ellen Drew, Paul Douglas, Peter Frampton, Andrew L. Stone, Dick Van Patten, Frank Crumit and Bobby Sherwood. Absolut will receive its own star as a reward for their picking up the tab for the renovation.

Get Ready To Do The ‘Time Warp’ Again MTV is resurrecting Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Brad, Janet, Riff Raff and the rest of the oddballs of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” turning everyone’s favorite midnight musical comedy into a TV movie.
The “Rocky” re-do will feature the original campy 1975 screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O’Brien, along with the classic soundtrack for the two-hour teleflick. There might be a couple of new songs written specifically for the TV version, which MTV is hoping to have on the air next year. No word yet on casting.
Disgraced Plastic Surgeon Agrees To Leave U.S. The so-called doctor who botched Priscilla Presley’s cosmetic surgery and was jailed for injecting illegal silicone into high-profile clients’ faces is heading back to his native Argentina on a one-way ticket. Dr. Daniel Serrano was granted a voluntary departure after attending an immigration hearing
yesterday. Serrano will remain in custody until he leaves America.
Bale Asks For Privacy In Assault Case Christian Bale is refusing to talk about the recent assault allegations by his mother and sister, which have marred his promotional trip for the new “Batman” movie. He’s urging the media to “respect his privacy.” The 34-year-old actor was arrested in London on Tuesday over accusations he assaulted
his mother, Jenny, 61, and sister, Sharon, 40, at the capital’s Dorchester Hotel on Sunday night. Bale was arrested and questioned by police and then released.

Russell Brand To Host MTV Video Music Awards British actor/comedian Russell Brand will host this year’s Video Music Awards, set to air live from Los Angeles on September 7th. Brand recently co-starred in the Judd Apatow-produced comedy “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and the Reese Witherspoon-produced fairytale “Penelope.” He is
currently filming the Adam Sandler comedy “Bedtime Stories,” slated for release later this year. MTV hired Brand to be a VJ on its Britain-based show “Dance Floor Chart” after catching his comedy act in Edinburgh, Scotland. He also hosted a call-in show called “MTV Select.”
Nick And Aaron Carter’s Mom Arrested The mother of singers Nick and Aaron Carter has been arrested in Florida after skipping a divorce hearing. A warrant was issued for Jane Carter’s arrest after she missed the court appointment to
settle her split from ex-husband John Holcomb. Carter was due to face allegations she trashed the house the former couple once shared. She was arrested at a cemetery where the construction company she works for was doing a project.
Britney Spears Returning To MTV’s VMAs Britney Spears will get another shot on MTV’s Video Music Awards after being nominated for Best Female Video for “Piece of Me.” The full list of nominees in the category will be released today. The MTV VMAs show will air September 7th on the network.

Update: DMX Pleads Not Guilty DMX has pleaded not guilty to felony charges of theft and identity theft. Authorities claim the rapper, real name Earl Simmons, gave the name Troy Jones and an incorrect Social Security number to a
Scottsdale, Arizona, hospital in April to avoid paying $7,500 in medical expenses. When reporters asked for comment following the hearing, DMX rapped, “If and when you ever fall down, get back up. ... Stand for something or fall for everything. Wait for the right pitch, you’ll miss every swing.” His lawyer pulled him away as he told reporters to look for his next album, “Walk With Me Now,” on October 14th. He also has a gospel album, “You’ll Fly With Me Later,” in the works.
Jesse McCartney Says Yes To Bongo Jesse McCartney has become the first male spokesperson to appear in clothing retailer Bongo’s fall campaign. McCartney, who recently released the pop/R&B infused album “Departure,” will be
featured along with the “Fab Five Fit” girls in Bongo’s multi-media advertising campaign debuting in September. McCartney will make personal appearances on behalf of Bongo. Bongo will promote McCartney when he goes on tour this August with “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks. Meanwhile, McCartney is slated to premiere his independent film “Keith” on September 13th in Las Vegas.
Avril Lavigne Earns $1 Million From YouTube Video Avril Lavigne has earned $1 million from people watching the video to her single “Girlfriend” online. The video has clocked over 100 million hits on YouTube since it was posted last year. According to Gigwise.com, every time the video is viewed, an advertisement is played and Lavigne receives a fee.
Rihanna Goes Back To School With Circuit City Circuit City has tapped Rihanna for its fall campaign just in time for “back to school” season. Starting next week, Rihanna’s new single and video “Disturbia” will be used in new ads for the electronics retailer. Rihanna, who recently released “Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded,” will also be seen across
Circuit City print ads into the fall. In addition, a mobile offering, available on circuitcity.com, will let users download a free voice tone of the singer and exclusive wallpaper images. Rihanna will also participate in an online chat on August 20th.

Ciccone says Madonna sent him an e-mail stating, “Call me,” when she heard of the unauthorized biography, but he
never wrote her back. “I will admit to a guilty pleasure in watching her squirm,” Madonna’s little brother said.
Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim Sued Over Undelivered Books A New York publisher is suing Foxy Brown and Lil’ Kim, saying they were paid advances for books they never delivered. Simon & Schuster says Brown was paid $75,000 in 2005 to deliver an autobiography called “Broken Silence” by February 2006, and Lil’ Kim was paid $40,000 in 2003 for a
novel due June 2004. The publisher filed two lawsuits yesterday. After signing the deals, both women were imprisoned for several months. Lil’ Kim went to prison in 2005 for lying about a shooting, and Brown in 2007 for violating probation arising from a fight with two manicurists.
Lil Wayne Sued For Rolling Stones Copyright Breach A music publishing company that owns the rights to the Rolling Stones’ song “Play With Fire” has sued Lil Wayne, saying he released an altered version of the song without permission. Abkco Music accuses Lil Wayne, his collaborators and his record company of copyright infringement and unfair competition. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages. Lil Wayne’s “Playing with Fire” is a clear
derivative of the Rolling Stones song with the original lyrics and music altered in a recognizable way, Abkco said, adding that Lil Wayne’s version uses “explicit, sexist and offensive language” and could lead the public to believe the company and the Rolling Stones approved of and authorized the new version. |
